Your cleaner opens a link, ticks what is due this turnover and flags supplies running low. For hosts who manage their own units ## Upkeep between guests, ticked off by your cleaner Keep the slow jobs out of your head: filters, descaling, mattress turns, battery swaps. Your cleaner opens a link, sees what is due this turnover, and ticks it off. You see what is overdue before the next guest. - **Overdue** 1 - **Before next guest** 3 - **Missed last turnover** 0 - **Supplies low** 1 - Descale the kettleOverdue - Change the bed linenThis turnover - Wash the extractor filterDue Wed 18 Nov - Restock the welcome basketTicked by Cleaner A A sample unit. Yours starts empty: you add the jobs and set every interval. ### Three steps 1. **Add a unit and its jobs.** A nickname for the place, then each job with your own interval: every stay, every so many days, or every so many months. Mark the ones only you do as host only. 2. **Send your cleaner a link.** They open it on their phone with no app or account, tick what is due, flag supplies running low, and tap Turnover finished. 3. **See what is left.** Each unit shows what is overdue, what must happen before the next guest, what was missed at the last turnover and which supplies are low. ### Jobs hosts often add first Titles only. You set every interval: use the one from the manufacturer or your local rules. - Change the bed linen - Restock the welcome basket - Descale the kettle - Rotate the mattress - Wash the duvet inners - Clean the oven - Wash the extractor filter - Check the spare light bulbs - Defrost the freezer - Swap the remote control batteries The rules, what is stored and for how long are on [how Turnchores works](https://turnchores.com/how-it-works/) and the [privacy page](https://turnchores.com/privacy/). The [FAQ](https://turnchores.com/faq/) covers cleaners, intervals, missed turnovers and deleting your data. --- # How intervals, turnovers and cleaner links work, Turnchores URL: https://turnchores.com/how-it-works/ Last reviewed: 2026-10-28 > Every-stay, day and month intervals, what is due before the next guest, missed turnovers, cleaner links and offline ticks, in the order you meet them. ## How intervals, turnovers and cleaner links work You keep one list of jobs per unit, each with an interval you choose. Your cleaner ticks them from a link at each turnover, and each unit shows what is left. The rules below are the ones the server works by, in the order you meet them. Last updated 28 October 2026 ### The rules, in the order you meet them 1. **Signing in.** You make an account with a passkey: your device keeps a private key behind your fingerprint, face or screen lock, and the server keeps only the public half. No password, no username. You get a recovery code once, and can add up to 10 passkeys. 2. **Units.** A unit is one place you let, with a nickname and its own time zone. Every date is kept as a calendar day in that zone, and "today" is the day it is there, by the server's clock. Changing the zone changes today, never the dates already marked. 3. **Jobs and intervals.** Each job is due every N stays (1 to 20), every N days (1 to 730) or every N months (1 to 36). You choose N; Turnchores ships no default interval for anything. Dated jobs have a first due date. A job can be host only, so it never shows to cleaners. 4. **Marking done.** A mark on a day resets the schedule from that day, not from the old due date. Every N days: the next due date is the last done date plus N days. Every N months: the last done date plus N months, and when that month is shorter the last day of the month (31 January plus 1 month is 28 February, or 29 in a leap year). An earlier date than the last mark keeps the later one. An undone mark is simply left out and the date worked out again. 5. **Every N stays.** A job set to every N stays is due when it has never been done, or when at least N minus 1 turnovers have been recorded on a day later than the day it was last done. Every 1 stay is due at every turnover. 6. **Status of a dated job,** in this order: Overdue when its due date has passed. Before next guest when it is due on or before the next check-in date, or within the next 7 days when no check-in date is set or the date has passed. Soon when it is due within 30 days. Later otherwise. 7. **The cleaner's list.** The jobs shown to cleaners that are due at this turnover, overdue or before the next guest, overdue first, then in your order. A job ticked during this clean stays on the list, shown done. 8. **Turnover finished.** One turnover per unit per day, on the day at the place (a clean that ends after midnight counts on the new day). When it is recorded, every due every-stay job nobody ticked since the previous turnover is shown as Missed last turnover until it is done. 9. **Ticks from a cleaner.** A tick carries the day it was tapped. It is taken when that day is today or yesterday at the place; older ticks are refused with "Too old to send. Ask the host to add it." With no signal the tick waits on the phone and is sent later. Each tick carries a key, so a double tap or a resend is one mark. A cleaner can undo their own tick for 10 minutes; after that the host can, and a host's undo during the clean is shown on the cleaner's page. Turning a link off stops it at once, and the cleaner's page says it was turned off. 10. **Limits.** At present an account holds 3 units with up to 100 jobs and 5 cleaner links each, and 40 supplies a unit. 11. **Email.** One email on Mondays at 08:00 your time lists each unit that has something overdue, before the next guest, missed or running low, sent only to an address you confirmed. Cleaners never get email. Nothing depends on it: the same counts are on each unit. 12. **Deleting.** A deleted unit or account can be restored for 7 days, then it is deleted for good. Links stop at once. ### Worked example On 1 November a host adds "Descale the kettle", every 30 days, first due 1 November. On 3 November it is Overdue. The cleaner ticks it that day, so it is next due 3 December, 30 days from the tick. "Clean the oven" is every 3 stays. It is ticked at the 2 November turnover. Turnovers on 5 and 9 November are recorded without it, and it is due at the next one. If that turnover is recorded and nobody ticked it, it shows as Missed last turnover until somebody does. On 10 November with the next check-in set to 20 November, a job due 18 November is Before next guest, and one due 25 November is Soon. ### What it is not Turnchores keeps the intervals you set and shows who marked what. It does not check that an interval is right for an appliance or a rule, and a done mark is "marked done by Cleaner A", not proof that the work was done. It holds no guest names or bookings: only the next check-in date you type. Turnchores is not affiliated with any booking platform, property manager or cleaning company. --- # Questions about units and cleaner links, Turnchores URL: https://turnchores.com/faq/ Last reviewed: 2026-10-28 > Answers about Turnchores: what cleaners see, every-stay jobs, before next guest, intervals, wrong ticks, no signal and deleting everything. ## Questions about units, cleaner links and passkeys Cleaners, intervals, turnovers, limits and your data, answered plainly. The rules themselves are on [how it works](https://turnchores.com/how-it-works/). ### Frequently asked questions **Does my cleaner need an app or account?** No. You make a cleaner link on the unit's page and send it, or show its QR code. Your cleaner opens it in the phone's browser with no app, no account, no password and no email. The link is the key, so send it only to the person who cleans, and turn it off when they stop. **What does my cleaner see?** The unit's nickname, the next guest's arrival date, the jobs due at this turnover with your notes, the supplies list with a Running low button, and a Turnover finished button. For each job they see when it was last done. They never see your other units, the history, jobs you marked host only, your account or any price. **How do "every stay" jobs work?** A job set to every N stays is due at turnovers rather than on a date. Every 1 stay is due at every turnover. Every 3 stays is due at every third turnover, counted from the turnover after it was last done. A turnover is recorded when the cleaner taps Turnover finished, once a day per unit. **What does "before next guest" mean?** A dated job is before next guest when its due date is on or before the next check-in date you set for the unit. With no check-in date, or one that has passed, it means the next 7 days. Jobs due every stay count as before next guest until they are ticked at this turnover. **Can I set the intervals for smoke alarms?** Yes, you set every interval yourself, for any job. Turnchores ships no default intervals and never suggests one for smoke or carbon monoxide alarms, gas appliances, fire equipment, pools or electrics. Use the interval from the manufacturer or your local rules. Turnchores reminds you of the interval you set; it does not check that it is right. **Can two cleaners share a unit?** Yes. Make a link for each, with a label such as Cleaner A and Cleaner B. Each tick carries the link's label, both see the same list, and when both tick the same job the history keeps both marks. Only one turnover is recorded per day; the second person to tap Turnover finished sees who recorded it and when. A free account has 1 cleaner link per unit; a paid plan has up to 5. **What if a cleaner ticks the wrong item?** They can tap Undo on that job for 10 minutes after the tick. After that, you undo it from the unit's history, and if you undo a cleaner's tick during their clean, their page says so. An undone mark is worked out again from the marks that are left, so the next due date goes back to what it was. **Can I add photos?** Not yet. A done mark records who ticked it and when. **How do I hand a unit to a new manager?** Print the handoff pack. The new manager starts their own unit. **Does it sync with my booking calendar?** No. Turnchores does not read any booking calendar; you type the next check-in date on the unit's page. A paid plan gives each unit a calendar feed of its dated jobs that your own calendar app can subscribe to. **What happens if I stop paying?** Nothing is deleted. Every unit and job stays readable and every cleaner link keeps working for ticks and turnovers. While you are over the free limits (1 unit, 10 jobs a unit, 1 cleaner link a unit) you cannot add new units, jobs or links, the history on screen goes back 90 days, and the calendar feed, the CSV and the Monday email stop. **How do I delete everything?** On your account page, Download everything gives you one file first. Delete my account signs you out everywhere and stops every cleaner link and calendar feed at once. Sign in within 7 days to cancel; after that everything is deleted for good. A single unit can be deleted on its own Settings tab, with 7 days to restore it. **What happens with no signal in the building?** Ticks made with no signal are kept in the cleaner's browser with the date they were tapped, and the page says how many are waiting to send. They go on their own when the signal is back. A tick sent twice counts once. A tick that reaches the server more than a day late is refused with a note asking the host to add it. **Do I need an email address or a password?** No. Turnchores has no passwords and asks for no email address to sign up. You sign in with a passkey: your phone or computer makes it with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. You can add an address for the Monday email; it is never used to sign in. **What if I lose my phone?** If your passkey is synced by your passkey manager, it is on your other devices already. Otherwise sign in on another device you added, or use your recovery code on the recovery page to add a new passkey. You can add up to 10 passkeys, so adding a second device early is the easiest safeguard. **Can I install it on my phone?** Yes. In a browser that offers it, the menu shows Install Turnchores. On an iPhone or iPad, open the site in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Your units need a connection; the help pages open offline. **Is it linked to any booking platform?** Turnchores is not affiliated with any booking platform, property manager or cleaning company. --- # About the rental upkeep lists and cleaner links, Turnchores URL: https://turnchores.com/about/ Last reviewed: 2026-10-28 > What Turnchores is: upkeep lists for short-term rentals, a link for the cleaner with no account, and what it stores and why it stores it. ## About Turnchores A small site for hosts who look after their own short-term rentals, so the slower upkeep jobs stop living in their heads. ### Why it exists Between guests the turnover clean happens. The slower jobs do not: the extractor filter, the kettle descale, the mattress turn, the deep clean, the batteries in the remote. They sit in a spreadsheet, on a list that is not saved, or in the host's memory, and they slip. Turnchores keeps one list of those jobs per unit, each with the interval the host chooses, and gives the cleaner a link that shows exactly what is due this turnover. ### How it is built The pages are static files. A small server keeps the units, jobs, done marks and supplies in one database on Cloudflare. The host signs in with a passkey, so the site never holds a password, and the cleaner needs no account at all: the link is a long random secret, and the database keeps only a scrambled form of it, so a copy of the database would not open a single unit. It asks for as little as it can. A host gives no name and no email address to sign up; an address is optional and used only for the host's own Monday email. A unit has a nickname, not an address. Guests are never named: the only thing kept about a stay is the next check-in date. There is no advertising, no tracking script and no data shared for marketing. ### Who it is for A host with one to five units who manages them alone and works with one or two cleaners. The host sets the jobs once; the cleaner ticks them from a phone; the host sees what is overdue and what must happen before the next guest without phoning anyone. ### What it is not It is not a booking calendar, a property management suite or a way to pay cleaners. It suggests no intervals: for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, gas, fire equipment, pools and electrics, the interval comes from the manufacturer or your local rules. A done mark records who ticked a job and when; it is not proof of the work. Cleaners never get email. Turnchores is not affiliated with any booking platform, property manager or cleaning company. ### Install it On a phone it can sit on your home screen like an app. On an iPhone or iPad, open the Share menu in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On other browsers, use Install in the menu. ### Contact Questions and problem reports go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com. Last updated 28 October 2026 In short: Turnchores stores unit nicknames, items, intervals, done marks with the cleaner link label, and supplies on Cloudflare D1, region not pinned, until you delete them. Deleted units go 7 days after you delete them. There is no guest data. ### Where it is kept Units, jobs, marks and accounts are kept in one Cloudflare D1 database that belongs to this site. Cloudflare chooses where the database lives; the region is not pinned, so it may be outside your country. The pages themselves are static files served by Cloudflare Pages. ### What is stored for an owner - A random account id, the account name you chose for your passkey manager (or Turnchores owner), your time zone, and when the account was made. - For each passkey: its public key, its id, a signature counter, the name you gave it and when it was added and last used. Never a fingerprint, a face or any biometric data: those stay on your device. - A scrambled form (SHA-256) of your recovery code. The code itself is shown to you once and not kept. - For each signed in device: a scrambled form of its session id, and when it was made, last used and when it expires (90 days after the last use, counted a day at a time). - Your email address, only if you add one, whether you confirmed it, and a scrambled form of the confirmation link while it is waiting. It is the one place an email address is ever stored, and it is used only for the Monday email. - Each unit: its nickname (not an address), its time zone, the next check-in date you type, and when it was made and changed. No guest names, bookings or contact details: only that one date. - Each job: its title, its interval, its first due date, your note for cleaners, whether cleaners see it, and its place in the list. - Each done mark: the job, the day it was done, when it reached the server, whether the host or a cleaner link made it with that link's label, an optional note, and whether it was undone and by whom (host or cleaner). No photos. - Each turnover: the day, the time and the link label that recorded it. Each supply: its name, the amount you typed and whether it is running low. - The Monday emails for you, and a record of each email sent, kept 30 days. ### What is stored for a cleaner - Nothing about the person: no name, email address, phone number or account. Their ticks are stored as done marks with the label you gave the link. - For each cleaner link and calendar feed: a scrambled form (SHA-256) of its secret, plus a sealed copy that only this server can open with its own secret key, so you can see the link again, and when the link was last used. ### Limits on how fast requests come To stop a link being flooded, the server counts writes per link and per network address in hourly buckets. The address is stored only as a keyed scramble that cannot be turned back into the address, and each bucket is deleted after 2 hours. Network addresses are never written to logs. ### How long it is kept - Your account, units, jobs and marks: until you delete them. - A deleted unit: 7 days, while it can be restored, then deleted for good with its jobs, marks and links. - An undone mark: 30 days after it was undone. - A deleted account and everything in it: 7 days, while you can sign in and cancel, then deleted for good. - Sessions: until 90 days after the last visit on that device, or until you sign out. - Passkey sign in requests: 5 minutes. Rate limit buckets: 2 hours. Email records: 30 days. ### What stays on your device A cleaner's ticks are kept in the browser's local storage under keys beginning with `rentalupkeep` until the server confirms them, so a tick made with no signal is not lost while that storage works; the nickname of a new unit a host is typing is kept the same way. The secret part of a cleaner link sits after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server in the address. ### How to see and delete it On your account page, Download everything gives one file with all of it, and each unit's history can be downloaded as a CSV. Delete my account removes everything after the 7 days above; you can also undo single marks and delete single units. Requests by email go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com. ### Cookies One cookie, and only for owners who sign in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by page scripts and is never sent to another site. Cleaners get no cookie. ### Page counts Visits may be counted by Cloudflare's own page counter, which sets no cookie and records that a page was opened, never what you typed. There is no other analytics. ### Payments No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it. ### Email Only owners can receive email: one confirmation link to an address they added, and then, once confirmed, the Monday email. Nothing else is ever sent to an unconfirmed address. Cleaners are never emailed. Emails carry no tracking images. ### Typeface Headings are set in Archivo by the Archivo Project Authors, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, served from this site. The licence is at [/fonts/OFL.txt](https://turnchores.com/fonts/OFL.txt). ### Changes and contact If this policy changes in a way that affects what is stored, the change will appear on this page. Last updated 28 October 2026 ### What this is Turnchores keeps upkeep lists that a host shares with a cleaner by secret link. Anyone who has a link can use it until the host turns it off, so do not put anything in a job or note that you would not show to whoever has the link. It reminds you of the intervals you set; it does not check that an interval is right for an appliance or a rule, and a done mark is a record of who ticked a job, not proof that the work was done. ### Names used Passkeys, browsers and passkey managers are named descriptively. Turnchores is not affiliated with any booking platform, property manager or cleaning company. ### Payments No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it. ### Your content You own what you put in your units. The host decides who has a cleaner link and may undo any mark. You can download everything you own and delete your account at any time from the account page; the privacy page says exactly what is stored and for how long. ### Acceptable use Use the lists for upkeep of places you let or look after. Do not put guests' or anyone else's private details in a job, note or label, do not try to guess links, and do not send requests at a rate that degrades the site for other people. Content that breaks these terms may be removed. ### Warranty and liability The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and runs within free hosting limits that can make it busy for a while. To the extent the law allows, Turnchores is not liable for any loss arising from its use, including a job that was missed, a mark that was not saved or a link that was shared further than intended. ### Contact Questions and problem reports go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com.
